Chairman's Welcome

Cead mile Failte

On behalf of the London Kerry Association I would like you wish you a very warm welcome to our website.

We welcome all our visitors whether it’s to our website, or to one of the many functions we organise throughout the year. We like to think it is equal to the welcome you receive on your visits to Kingdom itself.

Our website I guess is an indication that we are embracing the future and new technology. This fantastic medium that enables us to communicate with each other and spread the news quicker than our ancestors could ever have dreamed of.

The whole ethos of the Association is to bring Kerry people in London together in friendship and assistance with that common bond that we all share.

Communication with the younger generation from Kerry who come to London is very important not only for them but also for us. A website is something they relate to and use in their daily lives so it was important for us to develop in this direction. It gives me great pleasure to welcome the younger generation to the Association. Some have come to London as part of their personal development others for financial reasons. Either way they have something that their ancestors never had in this website. Aside from a speedy means of finding out what’s going on, there is an opportunity to make contact when they or someone close needs our assistance.

Over the years we have organised numerous functions for our members. These events serve a dual purpose, firstly bringing Kerry folk together in a social environment and secondly by raising funds that we utilise to help those who fall on hard times or that life has been unkind to.

Our website is the hub of our communication with our member’s friends and the world at large. Therefore we positively encourage you to communicate with us and let us know what you think of the site or what sort of events would appeal to you. Feel free to forward any ideas that you think could benefit Kerry folk in London.

We have a meeting at The Kingdom pub in Kilburn High Road on the first Wednesday of every month and you are very welcome to attend. We try to keep it low key and informal to encourage people to come along for the craic hope to see you soon.
