The Kerry Association London has opened nominations for this year’s Kerry Person of the Year. The association, which caters for the large Kerry community based in the British capital, is looking for someone who has made a significant contribution to Irish life in the city. The prestigious Denis Reidy Memorial Trophy will presented by the association to the Kerry person who has made the greatest contribution to the social, political, cultural or sporting life in London over the last 12 months at the Annual Dinner and Dance at the Crown Moran Hotel Cricklewood on October 28. Association secretary and Killarney native Tara Cronin said:”It has come to the time of the year when we begin our search for Kerry Person of the year 2011. Anybody can nominate the person they think is most deserving of the coveted award. Kerry people living in London or in Kerry can make a nomination and the association’s committee will announce the lucky recipient after we meet on the September 29.” Closing date for receipt of nominations is September 28.
